Importing Old Notes from the Old Site

After months of being idle on my old site, I've started weighing for some time if I'll continue creating a new site since I'm going to start it over- name, concept, template and theme, popularity (as if). Having the time and interest again, Ser Jep's Notebook has been born. Recently, I've discovered nothing much precious in capability of Blogger and most probably all bloggers know it, a way to transfer posts from a blog to another one without sweat. The process is called 'exporting' and 'importing' posts. It wasn't really complicated you just need a little time to read and a go signal for yourself.

Import & Export Under Settings
I've exported my notes from JepS, visit it if you want (www.jep-s.blogspot.com), and saved it as .xml file. Then went to Ser Jep's Notebook posts settings and imported the said file. That's it, so simple. It actually lighten up my day since It was my idea to copy my posts to my new site. Enjoy checking them out! C:

A New Notebook

I've decided to make a new site of mine where I can primarily write down my academic activities with some personal insights and Ser Jep's Notebook was published. Ser Jep's Notebook will mainly cover all events in my academic life focused on my program, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and all other extra short courses and plans. So where did the peculiar name came from? Ser Jep is simply my shortened name- Serrano, my family name, and Jep as my nickname. Actually, I already have a site last year, JepS (www.Jep-S.blogspot.com), which was created after being inspired by my colleagues who are earning through blogging. The site is still there but not updated, so you can pay a visit if you got extra time.

Jep S
I'm gonna give you a short biography of the one writing on the notebook. So who is Ser Jep or much known as Jep S? I am a 19 year old, realistic, and goal-oriented male human who lives on one of the archipelagic islands of the Philippines. Currently pursuing my degree in the royal and pontifical University of Santo Tomas and expected to graduate on 2013 if the world doesn't end on 2012. LOL. I'm aspiring to build a global competetive corporation in the near future by starting off maybe with a design office.

National Power Corporation
Now, I'm spending my summer vacation in the office of National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) as a trainee in their Design and Development Department specifically under Mechanical Engineering Division. NAPOCOR or NPC is a state-owned company that serves as the largest provider and generator of electricity in the Philippines (Wikipedia.org). I'm gonna spend my 200 hours of vacation trying to enhance my knowledge about power plants and expand my vicinity of comfort zone and hoping that I would succeed. Sadly, I haven't taken my Power Plant course and have nothing to enhance but I'm doing my best to absorb and understand the concepts that are being bombarded to my mind. I'll just give further updates with my on-the-job training when I freed up some time from doing some fun things.

I will also update my template soon. Hope to see you around.

Will Hong Kong Ban Philippines?

This is probably what's running on your mind now. Will Hong Kong ban Philippines after the bus hostage taking of a dismissed police captain, Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza? There were a total of 15 hostages, 14 Hong Kong tourists, and 1 Filipino as the driver of the bus. It is not yet confirmed how many died in the said tragic event but what is sure for now that there were survivors.

No one can answer the question yet except for Hong Kong's government. But one thing is that we can all kiss Philippine's tourism goodbye because of the hostage drama happened at Quirino Grandstand this day. Let's all hope that it would not a big burden on Philippines attempt in changing its course in becoming a better country.

What do you think will happen in our country?

Update from GMANews.tv,
The Security Bureau of Hong Kong advised its citizens to avoid all travel to the Philippines an hour after the hostage crisis ended Monday.
In an outbound travel alert, the Security Bureau, changed its “amber alert warning" - meaning there were signs of threat - for the Philippines to a “black alert warning" indicating severe threats on the country’s security.
The Hong Kong warning stated that a “serious kidnap incident happened in the Philippines. [R]esidents should avoid all travel to the country; those who are already there should attend to their personal safety and exercise caution."
The travel warning came after the 10-hour hostage crisis ended with at least 4 Chinese nationals killed. Hostage-taker Rolando Mendoza, a former police office, was shot in the head by a SWAT sniper.
Six of the hostages were confirmed alive, and the fate of the rest of the hostages were unknown. —Jerrie Abella/VS, GMANews.TV

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III Website

Our own President Noynoy Aquino launched his very own website last August 16, 2010. The main mission of PNOY Website is to create communication between President Aquino and the people, us. Another purpose is to get feedbacks from the society, telling the president their woes and grievances. It is to make a way for the Filipino citizens to interact with him in order to know the people's thoughts and problems to make the administration much more trustworthy.

PNOY's Website is very reach with the latest news about what's going on inside the government such as his policy statements, list of his cabinet members with their respective link to their own departments, the contact information, links to official social networking pages.

It achieved 16,000 views within the first three hours of PNOY's Website from 94 different countries. This suggests that President Aquino's move is not wasted. In the near future almost all Filipinos would be visiting his site just to get informations about his plans and endeavors.
